STACY JACOBS NOMINEE FOR THE LOCAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR
Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads) — Stacy Jacobs' significant contribution and commitment to the Maitland community has been acknowledged with a nomination to the 2023 Local Woman of the Year Awards. Stacy has worked tirelessly to support youth in the Maitland area promoting equity. She has organised free formal wear events for Year 12 students ensuring no one is disadvantaged. A cornerstone of her activities has been running low cost and free courses in youth Mental Health First Aid. Stacy has supported over 66 young people to get their Provisional licences by supervising their driving hours – 1600 hours in total! Stacy was named the 2022 Youth Worker of the Year for NSW recognising not only her professional contribution but also her hours of volunteering. Stacy is a member of the NSW Youth Work Professional Board and the International Association of Community Development promoting Maitland. In the sporting field she has dedicated 20 years to Maitland Basketball, and she was one of the first female umpires in cricket in Maitland. Stacy is truly an asset to the Maitland community.
