ST BEDE'S CATHOLIC COLLEGE

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—It was a pleasure to attend the Official Blessing and Opening of the Dominic Building at St Bede's Catholic College on Tuesday 23rd August 2022. It was wonderful to see the community of the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese come together to celebrate the expansion of the College's facilities, and pay homage to the Late Bishop Fr Bill Wright who was such an advocate for the development of Catholic schools in our area. St Bede's Catholic College is a year 7 to 12 co-educational school located in the growing suburb of Chisholm. The school has been designed and built to accommodate the growing population of Catholic students in and around Maitland and will be able to accommodate 1,100 students when it is at its full completion. The school is designed around flexible learning spaces where students can work creatively and collaboratively to solve complex issues. Offering a diverse and comprehensive education experience for students, I understand the school plans to complete the current design and construction are due later this year. I wish the students, staff and families at St Bede's every success in their new facilities, and I hope to see students achieving great things in the future.
