Our Circle

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Our Circle Maitland is an emerging not for profit organisation, that holds a weekly barbeque service at the Maitland Library from 5pm to 6pm every Saturday. The Barbeque is to help people who are struggling financially and the organisation partners with Reach Homeless Services. Reach Homeless Services began operations in Maitland in 2023 and had been servicing Newcastle for over 8 years. Our Circle provides sausage sizzles, homemade meals, treats, hot drinks, food and hygiene hampers to members of the community in need. The set up includes a pop-up area where items donated by the public including clothing and goods, can be enjoyed free of charge. The service feeds over 50 people, in Maitland alone, every week. In the next few years Our Circle is hoping to open up and run a hub for those who are experiencing struggles in our community. The service often supports people each week who are living in cars, tents, or with friends. It also supports working families affected by the rising cost of living when their pay checks just can't cover everything. Thank you, Our Circle, for helping so many in Maitland.
