Nadine Statham Family Day Care Award

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Congratulations to Nadine Statham who has been named the winner of the Newcastle, Maitland and Hunter Educator in the 13th annual Excellence in Family Day Care Awards. When Nadine, a financial planner, gave birth to her first child and it was time to return to work childcare options were limited. Initially Nadine tried to source centre-based care for her eldest daughter before discovering a family daycare service. Nadine decided to start her business Sweet Little Wildlings thirteen years ago. The venture is part of many centres across the Hunter Valley under the banner of Five Star Family Day Care. Nadine is now in the running to be named as a national finalist for the 2024 Educator of the Year Award, to be announced soon at the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards. These awards showcase the contribution that family day care educators make to more than 74,000 children across the country each day. Congratulations Nadine and good luck in the national awards.
