Maitland Saints Junior AFL Club

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Congratulations to the Maitland Saints Junior AFL Club on their recent success AFL Hunter Central Coast Juniors Competition Grand finals. Five Maitland teams made the grand finals and three came away victorious. Congratulations to the Under 11 Girls, the Under 13 Girls and the Under 13 Boys teams who were crowned premiers on the day. The Under 11 Girls dominated Newcastle City with a commanding 67-point win. The Under 13 Girls claimed both the minor premiership this season and the major premiership by defeating Killarney Vale by over 50 points in a dazzling display. The Under 13 Boys then caused an upset by defeating the top of the table Saratoga by 35 points. Maitland Saints is a nurturing ground for AFL talent in the Hunter. Many of the grand final players have earnt their place in the Sydney Swans Academy Program which identify and develop young talent. Congratulations to the Maitland Saints Junior AFL Club, it's players, coaches and families for their hard work and dedication to the club.
