Maitland Regional Art Gallery

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Over the weekend, I was delighted to attend the Maitland Regional Art Gallery to experience the powerful storytelling and collaborative generosity of Yankunytjatjara/Arrernte artist Robert Fielding. We also celebrated the opening of works made through an incredible week of collaboration between artists and community facilitated by Mindaribba Local Aboriginal Land Council, Mimili Maku Arts and master printmaker Trent Walter. The exhibition – 'tjintu kutu, kililpi tjuat', 'one sun, many stars' – contains printworks by the Elders and men from the Mindaribba community and is a stunning celebration of storytelling from our community. I thank the sponsors Boydell's Wines and Heaps Normal and acknowledge the Rotary Club of Maitland Sunrise for keeping all who attended well fed. Thank you to the Maitland Regional Art Gallery for their continued support, curation and celebration of art and artists within our Maitland community.
