KYAH NEWCOMBE ROYAL INTERNATIONAL MISS FINALIST

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Congratulations to Maitland local Kyah Newcome who was crowned Royal international Miss earlier this year and won her way to the Royal International Miss pageant in Orlando Florida in July, where Kyah finished Top 16 in the world and won the people's choice category. Kyah is naturally a very shy young lady, and as a way to step out of her comfort zone back in 2017, she decided to join a pageant here in Queensland Australia. Out of this experience, she learned that putting herself out there would in fact help her confidence. This is the main reason she once again decided to submit her entry to the Royal International Miss Pageant. Kyah is an outstanding young citizen who is willing to put herself forward in the hope that she can inspire other young women to have confidence in themselves and achieve anything they put their mind to. She continually advocates within our community and helps raise awareness and funding for vital issues such as Starlight Foundation, Harry's House, Mark Hughes Foundation, Salvation Army drives, Clean Up Australia Day, Landcare and local community groups. Congratulations Kyah, you are a testament to community values.
