HUNTER RIVER DRAGONS AT THE MASTERS GAMES 2023

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Congratulations to the triumphant Hunter River Dragons dragon boat teams, whose remarkable achievements at the recent Masters Games in Adelaide are nothing short of commendable. Following months of dedicated and arduous training, their exceptional camaraderie and seamless teamwork were on full display, showcasing their unity as a formidable force. The club's outstanding performance resulted in a well-deserved haul of 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal. The A ladies 10's, A ladies 20's, A mixed 20's, A mixed open 20's, and A open 10's all clinched the coveted gold, a testament to their unwavering commitment and skill. Notably, the A mixed 10's narrowly missed the gold, falling short by a mere 2.5 seconds—a testament to their incredible competitiveness and determination. This triumphant display not only reflects the prowess of the Hunter River Dragons but also underscores the spirit of sportsmanship and dedication that defines their dragon boat teams. Their victories are reflective of the collective effort and passion invested by each team member, truly making them great representatives of the Hunter Valley and champions on and off the water. Congratulations to everyone involved.
