DUST (POST PUNK BAND)

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—I would like to congratulate the members of the young rock band DUST who returned from a 21-day European tour earlier this year. DUST is headed by Maitland pair Justin Teale and Adam Ridgeway and is supported by friends Kye Cherry, Gabriel Stove and Liam Smith and are gaining increasing recognition for their unique and energetic sound. This group of 23 year olds are taking the world by storm. They have toured Europe with Australian band 'Hockey Dad' and recently supported English band 'Slowdive' at the Enmore theatre. Their EP 'et cetera' was released 6 months ago and was recorded at Edwardsville near Wollombi using a mobile recording studio they built themselves. The band are already back in the studio working on a new release. The band will continue to tour Australia, ending in Sydney's Southwest in late October. Their drive, hard work and passion is undeniable and on display every time they hit the stage. I want to wish the band members every success as they continue to perform across the globe and continue to represent Maitland on the stage.
