Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—West Maitland Centennial Lions Club has only been around for a relatively short time, but they have already made a big impact on our local community. They have made an enormous contribution to our local community, raising funds for many local causes, including Maitland Hospital Children's Ward, Wallaroo Football Club, palliative care, and local drought and bushfire affected families. I was especially pleased to see the Lions donating to my back-to-school drive, with Lyn Dark and Jan Oksam dropping off a number of backpacks for local school children whose families are doing it tough. As a new club, they are very keen to get involved with any activities in the community, and of course, to have new members join them. Some of their other activities include battery recycling boxes, Christmas present wrapping, collecting cans and bottles, recyclings spectacles, share the dignity and more. The club holds an informal dinner meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6pm at Telarah Bowling Club. Please consider joining them!
