Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—The omnipresence of the pandemic in our lives over the last two years has resulted in so much change for all of us in many ways. Many proudly self-sufficient people have had cause to seek assistance, perhaps for the first time. I am very proud that so many people in the Maitland community have risen to provide that assistance and to freely offer that helping hand.
One such group is the Anglican Parish of Telarah and Rutherford. Twice a week they have provided a drive‑through Food Hamper service. This valuable, COVID safe service has been augmented by members delivering hampers to those unable to make their way to St Christopher's Church. The hampers have also included fresh fruit and vegetables grown in the community garden. The Parish acknowledge Oz Harvest and Slow Food Hunter as well as the Rotary Club: Rutherford as supporters of this work. I want to extend a hearty thank you to the volunteers of the Parish on behalf of the broader Maitland community and commend them for their selfless contributions to our city.
