Cody Hopgood Australian Team Selection

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Congratulations to All Saints College student Cody Hopgood who has received his second All Australian Schoolboys jersey. Cody earned his place to play on the Australian Schoolboys Rugby team with an incredible performance as a Front Rower for the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges team at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Final in Coffs Harbour on Friday the 7th of July. At the event, Hopgood was named player of the Tournament, and his team – in which he was joined by schoolmates Jack Thompson and Jack Hilliar- won against the NSW Combined High Schools team 40-12 in the Final. Cody who currently also plays as a Prop for the under 21s Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg side, and is contracted to the Newcastle Knights top 30, will soon fly to training camp for two weeks before playing France in Papua New Guinea. A West Maitland Wallaroos Junior, Hopwood has had an incredible year as he has also represented NSW Under-19s in their win against Queensland in the Under‑19 State of Origin.
