Charlie Potts Swimming Champion

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—Congratulations to Maitland's Charlie Potts and Valley Aquatic Swim Club for their recent meet success. Charlie is part of the Valley Aquatic Swim Club based in Maitland. And while the whole team had an historic meet recently, coming home with 74 medals and smashing four district records at the Coast and Valley Swimming Association [CVSA] winter championships, Charlie was the standout success. Over the three-day event, 13-year-old Charlie swam 13 events and walked away with 11 personal best times and four Coast and Valley records. Charlie broke CVSA records for the 200M backstroke, 100M individual medley, 100M backstroke and the 50M backstroke. Charlie's dad, Luke Potts is the coach of the Valley Aquatic Club and said it was the most successful team the club had ever sent to the Coast and Valley Swimming Association winter championships. The Valley Aquatic team won 26 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 24 bronze medals. Congratulations to the whole Valley Aquatic team and well-done Charlie.
