163rd Maitland Show, 2025

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—It was a pleasure to attend and see first-hand the outstanding success of the 163rd Maitland Show, held at the Maitland Showground this month. The theme of this year's event was "Love Our Show," and the Maitland community responded with over 25,000 people, affirming their affection for this annual event by attending. This year's show was a vibrant blend of thrilling rodeo entertainment, engaging agricultural competitions, and creative displays in art, photography, handicraft, cooking, livestock, floral, and more. The rodeo saw a massive increase in entrants, which was seen across the varied events. I commend all the entrants who entered the many competitions. You made the diverse spectacle which was enjoyed by everyone. I commend the tireless efforts of President Margaret Enright and her team of volunteers, staff, and organisers, whose hard work ensured every detail was executed flawlessly—a sentiment echoed by Showground Manager Brett Gleeson, who called it the best show he's witnessed in his five years. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this triumph. Congratulations Maitland on the community pride that made the 163rd Maitland Show a resounding success.
