100th Birthday of the CPH3 Train

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Regional Transport and Roads)—On 17 December last year, I had the opportunity to join the Rail Motor Society in Paterson to celebrate the 100th birthday of the iconic City Pioneer Heritage 3 [CPH3] train. Created at the Eveleigh Carriage and released in December 1923. The CPH3 train served the people of New South Wales faithfully for over six decades before its retirement. In celebrating the centenary of the CPH3 train, we pay tribute to the visionaries, engineers, and workers who contributed to its success. Their dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on the history of transportation in New South Wales. The CPH3 train serves as a reminder of the progress we have achieved over the past century. As we reflect on its remarkable journey, let's also look forward to the future of rail transportation, in NSW where innovation and sustainability will continue and advance. Thank you to the Rail Motor Society in Paterson for your tireless work in preserving this incredible piece of our State's history. Happy Birthday CPH3!
